Volunteering Opportunities
We have a range of volunteering opportunities available including positions in the Mill, the Museum, the Cafe and in the support areas such as Events, Administration and Social Media.

The Eling Tide Mill Experience is looking for enthusiastic people to be part of our team of volunteers. Whatever your interest or skill level, we have a number of exciting and unique opportunities if you would like to give some time as a volunteer. We are particularly looking for support at weekends and unsociable hours.

Volunteer Events Support

In order to effectively market The Eling Tide Mill Experience, we will often attend events off site to promote our offer, sell flour and other products and offer some hands on activities. These may be large scale like New Forest Show or smaller local events.

This role is vital in ensuring that the Eling Tide Mill Experience is promoted in a positive way and that it encourages new visitors to the mill or generates flour sales. Often these are weekends so availability on Saturday and Sunday is a must.

Volunteer General Administrator

Administration plays a critical role in how the ETME operates.  It is important that the front facing work is underpinned by effective operating administration practices and systems. Working closely with the ETME Manager confidentiality is a must.

Volunteer Collections Support

Ensuring our collections (archive and artifact) are appropriately managed and cared for is vital for our history’s survival.  Using these items in displays to assist in telling our story requires care and attention to detail.

Volunteer Café Support

Our very popular and busy Mill Cafe offers a place to eat and drink for both customers visiting the Eling Tide Mill Experience and local customers. We are looking for people to offer support to Mill Cafe visitors with both customer facing and behind the scenes roles.

Volunteer Miller

As a Volunteer Miller you will be involved in operating the Tide Mill Machinery for milling and demonstration purposes.

Engaging with visitors to ensure they have a better understanding of how a Tide Mill works. Help produce flour for sale to the general public and other outlets.

Assist in general maintenance tasks both associated with day-to-day requirements of the safe running of the mill and where required more general maintenance.

For more details on each position please e mail info@elingtidemillexperience.co.uk stating which position/s you are interested in, thank you.
